DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 22, 2016 – Jesus wasn’t well-off, but he had money. He didn’t have a lot of money, but he had enough. Judas Iscariot knew precisely how much money Jesus had because, as the gospel points out, Judas was in charge of the money (he “kept the bag”). He skimmed from it, too, because that was the kind of person he was. Of course, Jesus knew about Judas’s skimming but he let it go. Money wasn’t important to Jesus; it was just a means to an end.
