BE GOD-FEARING AND WORK HARD

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 23, 2016 – I have had a few lively discussions lately on the topic of political leaders and the state of nations. As I can’t help but come at this topic from the perspective of a born-again believer, I invariably have grated against the nerves of nearly everyone I’ve spoken to. I’m used to being attacked (water off a duck’s back), so that aspect of it doesn’t bother me, but what does stick a bit in my craw is how people refuse to take personal blame for anything that’s happening in their country. It’s as if they have no life experience at all, and only know how to point a finger of blame at everyone but themselves. (more…)
SILENCE LIKE A CANCER

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 23, 2016 – Silence in Heaven.
Imagine that!
Chapter 8 in Revelation foretells a time when Heaven will fall silent.
Why would Heaven fall silent?
SON OF MAN

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 23, 2016 – One of the most insidious lies perpetuated by modern-day churchianity is that Jesus is God.
Jesus is not God. Jesus was never God and never will be God.
Only those who don’t know Jesus would call him God. (more…)
APPROACHING THE GREAT DIVIDE

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 23, 2016 – Scripture is very clear that one day, there will be two camps of people: those who love God and follow Jesus, and those who don’t.
I call this the great divide.
Once this division occurs – that is, once all the followers of Jesus have been sealed – there will be no more conversions. The times of the gentiles will have been fulfilled, and all that will be left for believers still on Earth will be to endure extreme tribulation without losing God’s grace. (more…)
SANCTUARY

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 23, 2016 – The world is a mess, or at least the American and Canadian parts that I toured recently. I have spent the past three months immersed in that mess, flowing from one metropolis to another, listening to conversations, watching people move and interact, drowning in mindless chitchat that goes nowhere and makes a mockery both of our ability to think and to speak.
What a waste of God-given time and space! (more…)
THROW IN THE TOWEL

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 22, 2016 – There comes a time in some people’s lives when they decide to throw in the towel. When it’s been enough. When there’s no more fight left in them. It doesn’t so much mean that they’ve given up as that they’ve taken it as far as they can take it, and they need help to go any further. (more…)
JESUS AND MONEY

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, October 22, 2016 – Jesus wasn’t well-off, but he had money. He didn’t have a lot of money, but he had enough. Judas Iscariot knew precisely how much money Jesus had because, as the gospel points out, Judas was in charge of the money (he “kept the bag”). He skimmed from it, too, because that was the kind of person he was. Of course, Jesus knew about Judas’s skimming but he let it go. Money wasn’t important to Jesus; it was just a means to an end. BE KIND AND PRAY

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, July 23, 2016 – Jesus is very clear about how we are to treat people who hate us: We are to be kind to them and pray for them.
We are not to seek revenge in any way or to curse them. We are to be kind to them and pray for them.
Praying means to be kind in our mind, not just in our words or actions.
There is no way that you can do either of those things (be kind and pray for people who hate you) without the help of God’s spirit. (more…)
SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS = SATANISTS

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, July 20, 2016 – Jesus never got involved in social justice issues. You can bet that soldiers were beating and unfairly arresting people during Jesus’ ministry years, yet we hear nothing in the New Testament about it. Jesus warned his followers (that would be us) that we would be unjustly imprisoned and likely also beaten and killed, but he didn’t say to fight against it. He just advised us not to worry about our defense in court because God would give us the words we would need when it was time to defend ourselves.
In other words, there would be no #BelieverLivesMatter under Jesus’ watch.
Why is that? Why was Jesus so adamantly NOT a “social justice warrior”? (more…)
NONE BUT JESUS

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, July 18, 2016 – When Jesus told his followers not to hide away from the world but instead to go out into it, preach the Good News and constantly “watch” for the signs of the times, he knew it was not going to be an easy job for them to do. The world is not a pleasant place for believers, and it’s growing less and less pleasant every day. (more…)
