The Christian community is divided into two main camps: those who know God, and those who know about God.
Walk into a church building on any given Sunday and you’ll likely find representatives of both camps. Unfortunately, those who know about God far outnumber those who know him.
Which camp are you in? Which camp are your Christian friends in?
Scripture tells us that only those who know God have a chance at making it home. In a parable, Jesus dismissed the horde that presumed they had a guaranteed ticket to heaven by saying “I never knew you.”
What a horrible moment that must have been for those people! All their lives, to have had opportunity after opportunity to get to know God and to do his will, and they chose instead to keep him at arm’s length as a concept that had some merit as long as it didn’t interfere with their pleasures or alienate them from their friends and loved ones.
Church buildings are filled with people who are satisfied with only knowing about God. Catholicism even warns its followers against seeking a “personal relationship” with Jesus, stating that such a relationship isn’t necessary.
You can only swallow such anti-scriptural BS if you don’t know scripture and don’t know God.
So – do you know God, or do you only know about God?
I ask again – DO YOU KNOW GOD, OR DO YOU ONLY KNOW ABOUT GOD?
Think very carefully before you answer, as it may well determine your eternity.
